Ideas for your meetups
- Informal - you can meet in a bar, school, club or a local FabLab/Hackerspace. Have a coffee and sit down to chat about each others projects, questions etc.
- Formal - you can meet at a company, school. Find some speakers to give a (short?) presentation of their use of n8n to the group. Host a Q&A session. Have a more social part afterwards.
- Professional - perhaps people at your workplace are interested and you could host a lunch session where you give a demo.
- Fun/active - host an n8n hackathon, or a challenge.
- Online or offline? Your choice!
- Ad-hoc/recurring - your meetup could be a one-off, or a regular activity.
Planning your meetup
- We’ve learned that people need at least 4-5 weeks advance notice of events - especially for IRL (In Real Life) activities, so start communicating early!
- Think about what you’d like your meetup to look like and find a good location to host it. Perhaps your company, school or local coffee house have a good space - reach out to them and ask if they’re okay with you hosting a small activity there.
- Think about a good day of the week and a good time - what would work best for your audience?
- Think about how you can reach your local n8n community and which communication channels are most suited.
Communication
- As always, communication is key! Start communicating early and send relevant updates (’we have a new speaker!’) and reminders (’remember our meetup is next Thursday’).
- Prepare some graphics to use on the web and social media - we recommend creating versions in HD (1920x1080px) and square formats.
- Inform the n8n team when we can start promoting your event. Make sure we have enough time to send you your swag kit!
Managing your event
- We’ll publish your meetup on our official https://lu.ma/u/n8n page. We’ll add you as the event host so you can keep track of the registrations, reach out to people etc.
- Luma will send email reminders before the event. The default email reminders are sent 1 day and 1 hour before an in-person event.
